Political Prisoners' Letter Writing Night

Come send a birthday card to these political prisoners. It's an easy way to help remind these freedom fighters that they aren't forgotten. We'll be writing to prisoners like:

Steve Murphy, courageous eco-warrior

Sekou Kambui, incredible civil rights and black panther activist

Leonard Peltier, Native writer and warrior

Sean Swain, Indigenous anarchist and former union organizer

and Brian McCarvill, anarchist and prison censorship opponent.

Benefit Barbecue!

Saturday, July 10th:

Internationalist Books is having a barbecue! Eastern North Carolina barbecue, that is!

At Johnny's in Carrboro, 901 W. Main Street

Tickets are $8, you can pick one up from the store, or the day of the event at Johnny's. Cooks will be there starting at 8am, so show up early and hang out!

Plates include barbecue, slaw, potatoes, and corn bread.

Delicious Indian Dinner to Benefit Prison Books Collective!

Please join the Chapel Hill Prison Books Collective at a delicious Indian eat in/take out dinner hosted by renowned Chapel Hill cook Vimala Rajendran!

Dinner will begin at 5:30 PM. The location: 105 Lexington Drive in Chapel Hill (Vimala's home) in Heritage Hill, off Smith Level Road. Bringing your own containers to take home food is highly recommended; you are also welcome to stay and eat at the house.

The menu for this Wednesday:
*Usal - Whole yellow peas stewed
*Bhaji - sir fried chopped seasonal, local vegetables

Radical Film Showing/Bake Sale/Dance Party!

Join us at Nightlight (405 1/2 W. Rosemary St.) Friday night for an exciting program of radical films, sweets, and booty-shaking, all to benefit the Chapel Hill Prison Books Collective!

Films will include one of Guy Debord's early films, a documentary about the defense of a squatted social center in Copenhagen, Denmark, and more surprises. Bring a few dollars and your sweet tooth!

To be followed by... the To-Cool-For-School DANCE PARTY! Get down to hip-hop and various danceable jams, along with the cutest radicals in town. Bring your dancing shoes--and a friend.
